Đất nước đang trong thời kỳ khó khăn, nhưng đây cũng là cơ hội để mọi người tự rèn lối sống tiết kiệm

Một bài viết đăng trên một tờ báo dành cho tuổi mới lớn với lời khuyên sống sao cho tiết kiệm đã được rất nhiều blogger đăng lại. Đặc biệt là làm sao để thoát khỏi sự lôi kéo của mốt, kiểm tra các khoản chi tiêu, đặt ra kế hoạch tài chính.
Chỉ là chuyện blogger M.A. khoe mua được một cái váy mới rất đẹp giá chỉ 120.000đ thôi mà cả entry phát sốt lên vì bao nhiêu người ngưỡng mộ cô bé “sao tài thế?”, “tiêu tiền thật sành điệu”, “có bí quyết gì hôn?”. M.A. chỉ nói đơn giản: “Phải đắn đo, suy tính kỹ trước khi mua và chịu khó đi săn hàng giảm giá, bạn sẽ tìm được cho mình món vừa ý”.
Bạn Lonelystar viết: “Dạo này em cũng tập tành tiết kiệm. Tắm lẹ hơn một chút, xài điện ít hơn một chút, đi chợ không mua tầm bậy nữa… Còn bỏ xe máy mà đi xe đạp thì em không chịu nổi, nhưng xăng lên giá nữa rồi phải quay về thời “xe đạp ơi” thôi”… Còn bạn sốngmùathu chia sẻ: “Tiết kiệm còn là để phòng khó nữa. Notes on MongoDB

For an article in a German magazine I’ve been researching MongoDB over the last week or so. While I didn’t need a lot of the information I came across I collected some nicely distilled notes on some of its inner workings. You won’t find information on how to get data out of or into MongoDB. The notes deal with the way MongoDB treats and handles your data, a high-low-level view if you will. I tried to keep them as objective as possible, but I added some commentary below.

Most of this is distilled knowledge I gathered from the MongoDB documentation, credit for making such a good resource available for us to read goes to the Mongo team. I added some of my own conclusion where it made sense. They’re doing a great job documenting it, and I can highly recommend spending time to go through as much of it as possible to get a good overview of the whys and hows of MongoDB. Also, thanks to Mathias Stearn for hooking me up with some more details on future plans and inner workings in general. How to Install MongoDB and PHP Mongo extension on Windows 7

MongoDB is one of NO SQL varian. I want to test it on my Windows 7 32 bit machine. The install process isn’t difficult but I want to share it with others that might want to do the same as I do. This post also complement for Home Server series posts :

Benchmarks for DATE operations in MySQL

This article compares the relative speed of extracting the date part of a value in MySQL with LEFT() and with the DATE() function.

LEFT() is faster than DATE(). To prove this, I inserted two million un-indexed sequential values into a table and selected the minimum and maximum values. Both queries are table scans, so it does read through all the records. The table below lists the time in seconds for MAX() on my computer. I tested with three data types: DATE, TIMESTAMP and DATETIME.

I don’t know why it’s faster to use LEFT() than DATE(). I would assume the reverse to be true, but clearly it’s not, at least on the systems I’ve tested.

The time for MIN() is one or two milliseconds faster than MAX(), probably because the values are sequential and only one assignment is performed, whereas the MAX() query must perform two million assignments.

HandlerSocket mySQL’s NoSQL, PHP and Webscale

HandlerSocket is a server plug-in that interfaces with InnoDB directly bypassing for the most part the core mySQL server all together. Using Handler socket you do not connect to the traditional port 3306 or use the mySQL protocol to communicate with the mySQL server, you use 9998 reads, 9999 writes and talks a different protocol (much smaller) to an epoll-based service. This awesome addition means that you can have many many connections with very little overhead. The core mySQL server does a good job, but can do better. I’m sure the reason why epoll is not in the core engine is probably due to licensing issues or some other reason I am not aware of, like it would be a big deal to add it. 

Why bypass the server? Really bypassing the sql parser is what was desired. The sql parser ads a significant amount of slowdown at a huge transaction rate, additionally mutex contention is involved prior to reaching the storage engine with malloc overhead (although Monty has fixed this in MariaDB). Even though you can easily get 45-70K selects a second through the mySQL SQL parser layer for InnoDB primary key lookups, this number falls short of Memcache’s 600K Gets per second or various other NoSQL solutions that keep data in memory. Using MySQL as a NoSQL – A story for exceeding 750,000 qps on a commodity server

Most of high scale web applications use MySQL + memcached. Many of them use also NoSQL like TokyoCabinet/Tyrant. In some cases people have dropped MySQL and have shifted to NoSQL. One of the biggest reasons for such a movement is that it is said that NoSQL performs better than MySQL for simple access patterns such as primary key lookups. Most of queries from web applications are simple so this seems like a reasonable decision.
Like many other high scale web sites, we at DeNA(*) had similar issues for years. But we reached a different conclusion. We are using “only MySQL”. We still use memcached for front-end caching (i.e. preprocessed HTML, count/summary info), but we do not use memcached for caching rows. We do not use NoSQL, either. Why? Because we could get much better performance from MySQL than from other NoSQL products. In our benchmarks, we could get 750,000+ qps on a commodity MySQL/InnoDB 5.1 server from remote web clients. We also have got excellent performance on production environments.
Maybe you can’t believe the numbers, but this is a real story. In this long blog post, I’d like to share our experiences.

Để Trở Thành Một Cao Thủ AOE Một Pro Đế Chế

Chắc chắn rằng ai chơi game cũng muốn mình là người mạnh nhất hoặc chơi giỏi nhất và AOE cũng không ngoại lệ. Theo tiêu chuẩn trên CGA có 2 cấp độ chính đó là gà và pro hay nói cách khác là pro (cao thủ) và gà (mới chơi). Đây là 2 khái niệm khá tương đối! Hôm nay bạn chăn được 1 thằng bạn cho rằng nó gà mặc và cho nó nói lý do nọ kia, ngày mai bạn bị 1 thằng khác chăn và nó bảo bạn là gà thì bạn bảo nhà bạn nghèo hay đồng đội bạn gà. Cuối cùng bạn cho rằng mình không hề gà chút nào. Vậy làm thế nào để biết được bạn hay người khác đang ở cấp độ nào. Hãy thử đọc bài này và tự phân loại mình nhé. Age of empire 1 – Đế chế 1 [Toàn tập]

Age of Empire 1 (AoE 1), hay còn gọi là Đế chế 1, đã được phát hành hơn 10 năm nhưng đến giờ nó vẫn chiếm được 1 số lượng người tham gia rất đông và những cuộc chiến AoE 1 vẫn thường xuyên xuất hiện trên Garena cũng như nhiều cuộc tranh tài đỉnh cao trong nước cũng như quốc tế.

Removing The Dotted Outline

Anchor links (<a>’s) by default have a dotted outline around them when the become “active” or “focused”. In Firefox 3, the color is determined by the color of the text. I believe in previous versions and in some other browsers it is by default gray. This is default styling for the purpose of accessibility. For folks without the ability to use a mouse, they still need some visual indicator that they currently have a link active (so, for example, they can press enter to navigate to that link).
